The body of a missing 7-year-old boy was found in a pool Tuesday, two days after he disappeared at a swimming party at a home.
Police believe the body was placed in the pool after they had checked it Sunday and Monday.
“There is no way that boy’s body was there yesterday,” Deputy Chief David Kalish said.
Paolo Ayala disappeared from the birthday party at the Holmby Hills home shortly before his parents arrived to pick him up Sunday afternoon.
A housekeeper found the boy’s body in the pool Tuesday morning. Earlier, four teams of police dogs had tracked the boy’s scent, at one point picking it up about a mile from the home, police said.
The boy, who lived in West Los Angeles, was attending a classmate’s birthday party with about 20 other children. About 10 adults were supervising.
