Wouldn’t it be more fair to spread the tax pain among all Illinois citizens by raising the gasoline tax to a level equal to that of the proposed tax increases for smoking and gambling?
It was indiscriminate spending and poor management that put us in this hole. Targeting smokers and the gambling industry as the solution is very discriminating.
