As a Protestant, I am offended by the reprehensible manner with which the media are reporting the accusations against priests.
The media seem to relish tearing down the reputations of these pastors, which, by implication, also tears down the religion they represented.
Nowhere do they point put that none of these activities has anything to do with the theology, doctrine or teachings of the Roman Catholic Church,
I have yet to read or to see reports of the thousands upon thousands and, throughout history, millions, of men who have devoted their entire lives to serving God and their fellow Catholics.
The public is being taught to look with suspicion upon any clergyman, priest, minister, pastor, rabbi or teacher.
Our children are being taught to be cynical and not to believe anything, including values that formerly were an invaluable part of their development into responsible adulthood.
