I can understand the aggravation of O’Hare-area residents over the prospect of more noise. I live underneath the westbound departure pattern for Midway Airport.

On the other hand, I can drive to O’Hare International Airport in 30 to 45 minutes. A drive to Peotone takes nearly two hours. Considering that most airlines want passengers to check in 90 minutes prior to departure, I would have to leave my house more than three hours before a departure out of Peotone.

Considering that most of my trips require flights of two hours or less, taking a flight from Peotone looks to be a waste of my time.
