Marie E. Brearley, 93, of Rockford, died 9:20 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2002 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born March 20, 1909 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Edward F. and Catherine M. “Cady” Brearley. She moved to Rockford in 1982 from Des Plaines, IL. Marie had been employed by Illinois Bell as a Troubleshooter. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Pioneers of Illinois Bell. Marie was an avid tennis and golf player in her younger days. Survivors include nephew, Daniel (Judith) Brearley of Oak Lawn, IL; niece, Patricia Noel of Rockford; great-nieces and nephews, David (Kathleen) Brearley, Jill (James) DeGrado, Diane (Michael) Carpenter Sr., Ann (Mickey) Edwards, Tina Hendrexson, Jason (Sherrie) Noel and Joshua Noel; great-great-nieces and nephews, Shane and Caitlin Hendrexson, Nicholas Noel, Justin Brearley, Michael Carpenter Jr. and Brianna Edwards; predeceased by her parents and a brother, Edward S. Brearley. Funeral Service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at Fitzgerald & Assoc. Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, with Deacon Godwin Nsikan of Holy Family Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL. Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and again on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of Service.
