I read with interest Ed Sherman’s article about NBC losing the broadcast rights to NBA games (Tribune, June 7). I happen to be one of those people who has satellite television, but do not have a local ABC affiliate.
All I know is I’d rather have Steve “Snapper” Jones doing color commentary than Bill Walton. Would somebody please do something, like buy Walton a muzzle for his mouth? It’s bad enough that a lot of reporters hype Kobe Bryant as much as they do, but Walton is downright annoying. All he does is talk about how good every center is–Shaquille O’Neal, Patrick Ewing, etc.–even though O’Neal isn’t a real all-around center and Ewing couldn’t figure out how to win the big one in crunch time.
