Jane S. Strable, nee Sturtevant, age 84, died at her home in Hyde Park on June 15th of Parkinson Disease. She is the beloved wife of Edward; loving mother of Jennie Strable and her husband Michael Colagrossi; loving sister of twin brother Karl Sturtevant; fond sister-in-law of Laura Curtis, Norma and Frank Paluck; fond aunt of David, Michael, Timothy, Jaye, Ruth, Nora and grand newphews and nieces. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cleveland College and a Bachelor of Science in Library Science degree from Western Reserve University, both in Ohio. She served as an Army Librarian, WWII; as Circulation Librarian, University of Illinois at Navy Pier; and Documents/ Reference Librarian, University of Chicago Law Library. She was a long time active member of the Chicago League of Women Voters, 332 S. Michigan Ave., Suite 1050, Chicago, IL 60604, to which memorials may be made if so desired. Funeral arrangements are private.
