Barbara E. Hopper, 75, of Chicago and formerly of Jacksonville, died Saturday morning, June 22, 2002 at her residence. She was born August 18, 1926 in Jacksonville, the daughter of J. Albert and Floss Proctor Hopper. She is survived by two nieces, Dinah (James) Edmonson of Shreveport, Louisiana and Linda (Jim) Tallahan of Seattle, Washington; many longtime friends including Herman and June Andalcio of Chicago. She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Albert Hopper. Ms. Hopper retired from the American Medical Association in Chicago. She was a licensed ice skating judge and a member of the DuPage Ice Skating Club where she served as corresponding secretary. She was an avid genealogist and a train enthusiast, traveling extensively by train. She attended St. Chrysostom’s Episcopal Church in Chicago. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, DuPage Ice Skating Club, or the donor’s choice. The Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements. 217-243-1010.
