Catherine E. Scanlon, 93, of Ontario, died Friday, June 21, 2002, at the Franciscan-Skemp Medical Center in LaCrosse. She was born on July 14, 1908, to Patrick and Alice, nee Cashman, Lacey in Springfield, OH. She was a long time resident of Ontario and previous to this worked as a loan officer at a bank in Chicago. She is survived by two sons, Denis Scanlon of Ontario and Mark Scanlon of Chicago; one daughter-in-law, Linda Scanlon of Ontario; two granddaughters, Rose (Ron) Winchell of Waldron, MI and Margaret “Peg” (Matt) Lovrich of Midlothian, IL; five great-grandchildren, Jayme, Dani, and Jessie Calhoun of Waldron, MI and Kaitlin and Matthew Lovrich of Midlothian, IL; three stepgrandchildren, Eric Jurgensen of Poynette, WI, Pam (Dave) Shaw of Ontario, WI and Jamie Jurgensen of Cashton; three stepgreatgrandchildren, Cassandra, Danille and Diana Shaw of Ontario and one brother, John (Jane) Lacey of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Scanlon, her parents and one son, Richard. Catherine’s wishes were to be cremated. Her ashes will be interred in the Home Cemetery near Ontario at a later date. The Torkelson Funeral Home in Ontario will be assisting the family with arrangements.
