Jo E. Castillo, 52, of Streamwood, a bus driver with Schaumburg Township School District 54, died of lung cancer Tuesday, July 30, in Alexian Brothers Hospice House, Elk Grove Village. Born in Elmhurst, Mrs. Castillo was a longtime bus and truck driver who also worked for Elgin-based School District 46 and Auto Truck Inc. in Bensenville. She married her husband, Lupe, in 1971, and they raised four children. An avid Elvis fan, she made frequent trips to Graceland and adorned her bedroom with hundreds of pieces of Elvis memorabilia. Mrs. Castillo also loved gardening. “She loved to be outdoors with the grandchildren. She was very family-oriented. She wanted to help anyone and everyone,” said her daughter, Christine Ibarra. Other survivors include her husband; three sons, Antonio, Marcus and Joseph; her mother, Annette Daczewitz; two brothers, Hubert Jr. and Danny; seven sisters, Gale Wolf, Suzette Campbell, Shelly Rogers, Cindy Madison, Kathy Flores, and Jan and Sherree Daczewitz; and three grandchildren. Prayers will be said at 8:45 a.m. Friday in Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood. Mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Park Boulevard and Parkside Circle in Streamwood.
