John William Conlon, age 72, Veteran of U.S. Army, Korean Conflict, recent of Winter Haven, FL, formerly of Chicago and Normal, IL. Born January 13, 1930, died January 3, 2003 at home, due to Alzheimer’s. He was a self-employed Insurance Agent and Vice-President of Union Insurance Group for 19 years. He was the beloved son of John Edward Conlon and Josphine Hogan. John is also survived by his devoted wife, Mary A. Conlon of Winter Haven; his loving children, John C. Conlon of Berkeley, IL, Patrick J. Conlon of Winter Haven, FL, Michael F. Conlon of Hawaii, Jean A. Gasick of Woodridge, IL and Mary C. Wheet of Leroy, IL; and nine grandchildren. Member of St. Matthews Catholic Church; Knight of Columbus 3rd Degree; The Barber Shoppers; Sounds of Illinois Choirs; and Elks Lodge. Visitation Tuesday, January 7, 2003, 8:15 a.m. at St. Matthews Catholic Church, Winter Haven, FL, with funeral services following 9 a.m. at the Church.
