The decision to retire is increasingly becoming a family decision, but husbands maintain a stronger attachment to the work force than wives, researchers say. According to a Penn State University study, husbands are more likely than wives to expect to work full time after age 65.
For men, their own age and health were the main factors leading toward the expectation of early retirement. Women were more likely to consider their spouse’s health than their own.
