Julia Violet Halvey, age 80, of Burlington, WI, passed away January 21, 2003, at St. Lukes Medical Center in Milwaukee. Born July 30, 1922 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Julia Wessler, nee Bielech. She spent her early life and attended school in Chicago. On June 12, 1948 in St. Williams Church, Chicago, IL, she was united in marriage to Robert Halvey. Following marriage she resided in Chicago. She has been a resident of Burlington since 1986. Julia was an excellent artist and loved to cook for her family, she also loved animals. Survivors include her husband, Robert Halvey of Burlington; sons, Robert (Mary) Halvey Jr. of Woodstock, IL, Gary Halvey of Pell Lake, WI and Mark Halvey of Powers Lake, WI; daughters, Barb Halvey of Powers Lake, WI and Gemma (Dennis) Vantrease of Woodstock, IL; further survived by grandchildren, Kira, Tim, Jaime, Mike, Wesley, Becca and Monica. She is preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Brian Joseph Vantrease. Services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2003, 11 a.m. at SchuetteDaniels Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Thursday, January 23, 2003, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Memorials have been suggested to Lakeland Animal Shelter in Elkhorn.
