Some of the women courting “Joe Millionaire” are worried that people may perceive them as–gasp–golddiggers, and they expressed their concerns in the New York Daily News.

“I’m still single, and I think the golddigger label will be hard to shake,” said Dana, 26, a Los Angeles secretary and one of 20 women who flew to France last fall to meet Evan Marriott, a construction worker disguised as a millionaire. They didn’t learn the truth until after the Fox show’s taping.

“I felt a little betrayed,” Dana said. “I didn’t find out until I got a call from producers that the show would be about ‘the gold diggers meet the ditch digger.’ But I knew going into it that reality TV is all about surprises and humiliation.”

Amanda, 28, fretted about “whether I’d ever get a date again. I hope nobody takes that show seriously.”
