– Is it true that the actors who play Lt. Harm Rabb and Lt. Loren Singer on “JAG” are married in real life? –K.A.M. and K.R.M. in Baltimore, Md.

Yes, David James Elliott and Nanci Chambers have been married since 1992. In fact, they renewed their vows in Santa Barbara in 1999 because finances originally had forced them to settle for a city hall ceremony and Elliott wanted his wife to have something more special to remember.

– Didn’t Carol Burnett appear in an old “Twilight Zone” episode? What was the title and story line? –D.L. Lawrence in California.

Yes, Burnett appeared in a May 25, 1962, “Twilight Zone” titled “Cavender Is Coming,” in which an angel trying to earn his wings (Jesse White, long known as the Maytag repairman) tried to help Agnes Grep (Burnett), a down-on-her-luck woman. Cavender, the angel, gives her a lavish new home, but Agnes misses her friends and asks to return to her old hard-knock life. Donna Douglas (“The Beverly Hillbillies”) also had a small role in the episode.

No, but you are very close indeed: It’s Jim Hanks, Tom’s brother.

Martin died on Christmas Day, 1995, of emphysema. He was 78. When Sinatra died on May 14, 1998, bladder cancer and heart and kidney disease were listed as contributing factors. He was 82.

Slow down there. These days, shows have to wait to see whether they will even be picked up for a full first season, which CBS has done for “Hack,” widely regarded as one of the unexpected hits of the season. Its future as far as next season goes will not be announced until late spring, but signs look promising at this point.
