I do not understand all these people in this country who are opposed to the war with Iraq. So far the Bush administration has not fired a missile at Iraq, sent one ground troop into Iraq or bombed any major cities. Yet in December of 1998, the previous administration sent numerous missiles and warplanes into Iraq due to its non-compliance with United Nations resolutions, only to halt for Ramadan.
That administration felt it was so important to take care of the matter at that time, without further inspections or consulting our allies.
Why was there minimal vocal opposition in 1998, when that administration went much further than this one has? I do believe there was another issue consuming our media at the time, only to be temporarily diverted by the bombing of Iraq, which never resumed. It’s a shame people are not consistent in their protests, and don’t hold both parties accountable.
