Vivian Voorhis Davis Clark, 87, of Lexington, Ky., a former Batavia resident, died from heart failure Saturday, Jan. 25, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lexington. Mrs. Clark was born and raised in Schenectady, N.Y. and also attended schools in Glen Falls, N.Y., and Northfield, Mass. Family members said she met her late husband, John Hancock Clark, in a grade school in Schenectady. Before moving to Lexington four years ago, she was active in the Bethany Lutheran Church, Batavia Senior Citizens Club, and Batavia Order of the Eastern Star. She was a volunteer for many years with Hi-Hat House, the resale shop for Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. Mrs. Clark also enjoyed a 50-year career in retail sales at various stores in the Fox Valley area before her retirement in the 1970s. She was also a longtime member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, of which family members said she was very proud. Survivors include a son, Edward; a daughter, Nancy Clark Pesano; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Batavia services are pending.
