Why the tempest in a teapot over Hecky Powell’s choice of words? It seemed obvious to me that the reference was to mixed lineage and not to a canine animal. The connotation of the term may be slang, but it is not an epithet, a pejorative or a racial slur. I thought we once prided ourselves as a nation as being the Great Melting Pot. Some people seem to find the worst face to put upon a harmless remark.
