Will County prosecutors and representatives of the Illinois State Police plan to meet Tuesday to discuss upgrading charges against the mayor of a northwest Kankakee County town who allegedly caused a crash that killed a Bourbonnais man last week, officials said Monday.
David Dvorak, 51, the longtime mayor of Essex, was charged with drunken driving after he is alleged to have made a left turn into the path of an oncoming motorcycle while driving a pick-up truck on Illinois Highway 113 near Braidwood on Wednesday.
Jace Lillis, 21, the driver of the motorcycle, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he died Saturday, a hospital spokesperson said. Lillis’ passenger, Lindsay M. Saathoff, 21, of Bourbonnais (this sentence as published has been corrected in this text), was treated in a Kankakee hospital and released.
