Federal prosecutors said Friday they are considering appealing a federal judge’s decision to dismiss criminal charges against the parent company of a suburban electrical contractor in two workplace deaths.

U.S. District Judge Elaine Bucklo ruled that Rolling Meadows-based MYR Group Inc. could not be held criminally liable under federal workplace-safety laws for the deaths of two men who were electrocuted in separate accidents while working on high-voltage transmission towers in the Chicago area.
