Your editorial “Gay schools teach wrong lesson” teaches the wrong lessons.

Experiences in high school do not approximate the real world and prepare teens for life “out there.”

I have never seen my co-workers laugh out loud and call insults after someone whose clothes/boyfriend/hair they disapprove of.

Nor do the men taunt each other and rough-house in the halls.

Ideally every student should be able to go through the teen years in a civilized environment where the strength developed will be strength of character and not simply rhinoceros-hide skin, but many high schools do not fit the bill.
