Some people complained about the quality of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” (“Dysfunctional fun at the old ballpark,” Sports, Aug. 18). What I find more disturbing than Ozzy’s performance is that the Osbournes were invited to sing merely to promote Sharon’s upcoming show on WGN. I thought that singing that song was supposed to be a fun way to honor Harry Caray’s memory. In this case, it was merely a way for WGN to promote a new program.
That is shameful.
