The doctors beat the lawyers as Texas voters narrowly approved a constitutional amendment limiting medical malpractice awards. Final results of Saturday’s vote came in early Sunday.
The measure–one of 22 amendments that won voter approval–was supported by the Texas Medical Association and other health-care interests, large corporations and the Republican state leadership. They said it would lower medical costs.
