LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
No one lives up to that hype, but he is going to be good. He’s more the Magic Johnson-type than Michael Jordan, involving teammates first.
Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat
It’s not clear he’ll be a point guard, but he’ll be an excellent all-around player who could contest for rookie of the year.
Carmelo Anthony, Denver Nuggets
He’s a natural scorer and hard worker who’ll get himself a lot of easy baskets. He should lead all rookies in scoring and perhaps rebounding.
Chris Bosh, Toronto Raptors
He’s thin and eventually could wear down. But he’s quick and will surprise with a nose for the ball.
Chris Kamen, Los Angeles Clippers
Assuming he recovers from some preseason injuries, he’ll get plenty of opportunity without a veteran center.
T.J. Ford, Milwaukee Bucks
Gets the nod as sixth man. The quick guard needs to get a shot, but he could give the rebuilding Bucks a big shot in the arm.
