A Chicago man was sentenced to 7 years and 4 months in prison Wednesday for holding up two banks and stealing about $250,000.
In June, Jeffrey M. Wolak, 43, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Chicago to robbing tellers when they went outside to refill automated teller machines. In both cases, he carried a BB gun that looked like a pistol.
Wolak robbed New Lenox State Bank on Illinois Highway 59, Joliet, last February and First American Bank, 5000 N. Elston Ave., Chicago, in April 2002.
