After a Swiss team wrested America’s Cup from New Zealand, speculation began as to where the next series would be raced. Pierre-Yves Firmenich, the commodore of the Societe Nautique de Geneve, the trustee of the America’s Cup, says Valencia, Spain, will host the 32nd America’s Cup in 2007. The preregattas will bring America’s Cup racing to several venues and each of the final four host city candidates (Valencia; Lisbon; Marseille, France; and Naples, Italy) will be offered one of these events.
