Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Any comic-book fans on your Christmas shopping list? Here’s what to get them: Digital Comic Books (DCBs), a new form of DVD that combines the Crash! Blam! Smack! of comics with film.

DCBs, created by Miami-based Intec Interactive, blow up each comic-book panel to a full-screen image and provide sound effects and actors to voice the text.

Intec has partnered with publishers CrossGen and Marvel and has already released 20 titles, including DCBs of Daredevil, the Hulk and X-Men. The next batch of titles will be released early next year.

Each DCB has bonus features, such as footage from the comic book’s original issue. Marvel discs include an offer for three free comic books. CrossGen titles sell for $9.99, and Marvel DCBs are $13.99.
