Chicago police and fire officials recovered the body of a West Side man Saturday morning from Lake Michigan near Monroe Harbor.
Police identified the man as Hector Vasquez, 44, of the 700 block of South May Street.
A woman walking along the lakefront noticed the body about 11:45 a.m., police spokeswoman JoAnn Taylor said.
Police are handling the case as a death investigation, she said. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
