Good news came to me this year in a letter from Catholic Charities. It said a woman was looking for me. I could only think of her as a baby because the one and only time I saw her was in the hospital 31 years ago–my beautiful baby with blond hair, brows and lashes. I gave her up for adoption, by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

I thought it was hopeless to ever hear of her again because they told me the records were sealed.

I went on to marry her father and had two more lovely daughters. I had hoped, cried and prayed all those years that I might be able to see her once before I died. After exchanging letters we were finally reunited in August.
