Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

When reading the Voice of the people in the Dec. 26 edition of the Chicago Tribune, I was happy to read in “Life Lessons,” written by William A. Parker Sr. of Chicago, telling about the ruler that he received in an envelope containing pencils, an eraser and a 12-inch ruler.

I still have the ruler and continue to use it. The year 1942 was also inscribed on the ruler.

It was really nice to know that someone else enjoyed that wooden ruler given to us so many years ago. I was at St. Ferdinand’s school.
