A year after introducing the Rolls-Royce Phantom, company officials say that they built 481 of the luxury cars last year and hope to turn out another 1,000 this year. Tony Gott, chairman and chief executive of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd., says demand is keeping pace with production. The V-12 Phantom, which starts at about $320,000 in the U.S., is the first Rolls-Royce model for BMW since it acquired the name in 1998. The car, the first to be made under BMW’s ownership, is built in England. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Rolls-Royce.
