A West Side man accused of abducting a former girlfriend was charged Tuesday with aggravated kidnapping and domestic battery, police said.
Bobby T. Williams, 24, of the first block of North Mayfield Avenue, was charged with kidnapping Shante Needham, 23, who had a restraining order against him, police spokesman Edward Alonzo said.
Needham was returning home from a date early Sunday morning when she encountered Williams, who was waiting outside her home in the 200 block of East 55th Place, police said. He allegedly forced her into a car and drove off, police said.
Needham was found Monday night at the West Side apartment of a relative of Williams’, police Sgt. Kevin Duffin said. Williams “had fled just before” police arrived, Alonzo said, but police found him in the neighborhood later Monday night.
