John Vincent Roach, 80, passed away Feb. 4, 2004, peacefully at home, loving husband of 55 years to Irene; adored father of Deidre (Terry) White, Robert Roach, Patricia (Jon) Murnik and John (Josie) Roach; cherished grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of two. He was born Sept. 30, 1923. A graduate of I.I.T. in chemical engineering and a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He remained in the chemical engineering industry for his entire career, retiring from Mazer Chemical Co. as Vice President. He was also a Lt. in the Navy during WWII. He was born and raised in Chicago and in 1958 he settled in the Deerfield area. As a leader in his industry, his zest for life and a loving husband, father and friend, he will be missed by many. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 at Kelley and Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL. Mass 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 at Holy Cross Church, 724 Elder Lane, Deerfield, IL. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Lake Forest, IL.
