Eugene C. Pullano, age 72, of Lauderhill, FL, formerly of Chicago, IL died Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at University Hospital in Tamarac, FL. Gene passed away after a brief illness. Gene, son of Arthur and Antoinette Pullano, was born and raised on the Westside of Chicago. He attended St. Mel High School and went on to graduate from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, where he met his first wife, Mary Louise Bracken. They moved to Skokie, IL and raised their six children there. He was an accomplished athlete and passed on his love of sports to his children and grandchildren. When his kids were young, he could always be found on a ball field with his children and a flock of their friends. Gene cherished his relationships with his children’s friends. He loved being a father figure to all of them. Gene spent the majority of his business life in the insurance industry. He began his career working for his father, Arthur and his brother, Louis. Together they developed a successful insurance agency. Gene was proud of his Italian heritage and participated in related civic organizations. He was a gregarious and generous man, who was surrounded by many people who loved him and his philosophy, ” live life to the fullest.” Gene relocated to Florida about 10 years ago with his wife Cookie but remained actively involved with his much loved children and grandchildren here in Chicago. He is survived by wife, Rosemary; children, Arthur (Andrea), William (Rhonda), Richard (Candace), Michael (Michelle), Eugene (Tara) and Anne (John) Carreon; grandfather of Christin, Dana, Anthony, Nicole, Michael, Olivia, Dominic, Cara, Anthony, Chloe and Jack; brother of Pam (Gene) D’Angelo and Louis (Marietta) Pullano; son of the late Arthur S. and Antoinette. Funeral Monday, 9 a.m. from Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 8025 W. Golf Rd., Niles to St. Catherine Laboure Church, Glenview. Mass 10 a.m. Entombment Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
