Fox is venturing into theater. In a quest for new writing talent, the network is joining forces with Naked Angels Theater Company on “Naked TV,” a Los Angeles-based stage initiative.
Naked Angels will host the series of eight to 10 short plays written by aspiring television scribes. The plays will run April 16 through May 9 at the Edgemar Center for the Arts in Santa Monica, Calif., and Fox executives will be in the audience April 23 checking out the crop.
The network and Naked Angels have invited a group of established and new writers to develop material for “Naked TV.”
“This could expand the horizons of emerging playwrights, while exposing their work to a much larger audience. The alliance will continue a long tradition of theater and television working together,” says Naked Angels Artistic Director Tim Ransom.
Fox is not committed to a development or writing deal with any of the “Naked TV” writers.
