– Thanks to the addition of a convertible model for ’04, Chrysler is considering increasing PT Cruiser production, according to Dieter Zetsche, president and chief executive of Chrysler Group.

– Fifteen years after introducing Lexus in North America, Toyota plans to bring it to Japan in August with 180 dealerships. It has set a first-year sales target of 50,000 to 60,000 vehicles. It will compete with imports such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, which have prestige in Japan. Worldwide, Toyota has sold more than 2.4 million Lexus models since its launch in 1989.

– Chicago Indoor Racing is starting a junior racing school for children 13 to 17 who are at least 4 feet, 10 inches tall and weigh more than 110 pounds. The two-day classes are scheduled to begin June 21 at the facility at 301 Hastings Drive, Buffalo Grove. Tuition is $275 for the first child in a family, $250 for the second and $225 for each other in the same session. Call 847-941-9441.
