I was sickened to hear about the slaying of Paul M. Johnson Jr. by an Al Qaeda group. I felt the same horror at the murders of Daniel Pearl and Nicholas Berg.
By all accounts, Mr. Johnson was a kind and honorable individual, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.
As a Muslim, I am disgusted that anyone can seek to justify such atrocities in the name of Islam.
I cannot say it clearly enough: not in my name nor in the name of my religion.
