Chicago baseball fans may finally be waking up and seeing which Chicago team truly deserves the spotlight.
As a geographically challenged north suburbanSox fan, I couldn’t possibly be happier.
I see more people clothed in the black and white than in previous years. Home-game attendance has gone through the roof, resulting in sell-out crowds. Thirty-three-thousand fans at a Sox game? Unheard of.
When and from where did this new Sox pride arrive? Maybe it’s the team’s overall attitude.
Even if the team’s effort results in a loss, players respond with the class and respect of true professionals–better yet, true Chicagoans.
They do not fall back on Magglio Ordonez and Frank Thomas’ absences to account for lackluster play.
Sox fans appreciate and love this 2004 team for its energy and excitement.
I, for one, would like to thank the members of the 2004 White Sox for their play this season.
While Chicago may never be a Sox town, loyal fans appreciate their heart and determination each time the Good Guys take the field.
