– In a Page 1 and a RedEye edition article Wednesday about a civil complaint filed in connection with a recent incident in which tour boat passengers were doused with foul-smelling muck, the name of a bus driver for the Dave Matthews Band was misspelled (this sentence as published has been corrected in this text). The driver’s name is Stefan A. Wohl.
– A graphic on Page 20 of Section 1 Sunday erroneously said the Silver Star is awarded only to members of the Navy or the Marine Corps. In fact, the Silver Star is awarded to members of any of the armed services. The same graphic wrongly omitted a key element of the requirements to receive a Purple Heart. It is awarded to members of any branch who are killed or wounded due to circumstances involving the enemy.
The Tribune regrets the errors.
– A graphic in Sunday’s Olympics section on the design of a running track showed a cross section of one type of track, and may have given the mistaken impression that it is the type used in Athens. A graphic showing the design of the Athens running track is on Page 6 of today’s Olympics section.
