Bernard E. Skinner, age 87, of Lake Zurich since 1941, beloved husband of Helene, nee Tamalunas; father of Sande S. Skinner and Dennis B. (Vera) Skinner; grandfather of Jody (Dennis) Cirino, Jay Johnston, Leigh (Daniel) MacIsaac, Elizabeth Skinner, Denny and Jennifer; great-grandfather of Samantha and Nicole; brother of Francis “Skip” (Vi) Skinner. Born in Chicago on Feb. 13, 1917, died in Long Grove, IL on Aug. 21, 2004. One of the three founding organizers of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Member of the Lake Zurich Lions Club, Knights of Columbus of Barrington and founding organizer of the Dock Workers Union. Visitation at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral Saturday, Aug. 28, 9:30 a.m. to St. Francis de Sales Church, 11 S. Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich.
