Robert Patrick Clarke, died Aug. 26 of complications of diabetes. He graduated from St. Rita H.S. in 1942 and went into the Navy where he became a Fighter Pilot, where he was assiged to the USS Lexington. After the War he returned to Chicago and went with United Airlines where he was a pilot until he retired in 1984. He is survived by wife, Mary; sister, Jeanne Wieman; sons, Steven (Colleen), Dennis (Lynn), Phil (Kathy), Brian (Connie) and Gregory (Rose), stepson, Jerry (Judith) Cole; stepdaughters, Kathleen Philbin-Spiga (Ralph), Jackie (Bill) Payne and Margaret (Joe) Doria; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Salvation Army. A Memorial Mass will be said at St. John the Baptist Church in Winfield, IL. at 10 a.m. Sept. 8.
