Roger Clemens pitched six innings for his 324th career victory in Houston’s 7-6 win over the Cubs on Saturday. Clemens tied Don Sutton and Nolan Ryan for 12th place on the career wins list.

Also on Saturday, Eric Gagne worked a perfect ninth for his 36th save of the season during the Dodgers’ 4-2 win over the Mets. It was his 143rd save since 2002, breaking Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley’s major-league record for most in a three-year span. Eckersley had 142 from 1990-92 with Oakland.

And finally, Pedro Martinez struck out eight Saturday to move into the top 20 on baseball’s career list. The three-time Cy Young Award winner has 2,614 strikeouts, passing Chuck Finley for 20th place.
