This pan-Pacific Rim BYOB, open for just a couple of months, is like a pretty flower growing from a crack in North Clark Street’s gray concrete. With its bright orange and lavender walls, smartly offset by black trim, and homey-but-contemporary art, the decor’s been a hit in this diverse neighborhood. Of course, that may be due to its tasty cheap eats, mostly Thai classics with Japanese and Chinese specialties mixed in. A chef-selected five-piece sushi platter includes favorites including tuna, yellowtail and salmon, as well as a cucumber roll ($9.95). The smoky, tangy barbecue honey pork chicken satay ($4.95), a frequent special, is a fave. The panang curry ($6.95), however, could benefit from a bit more fire. 6632 N. Clark St. 773-761-6666.
