“Time to Light Up Your Future,” the annual College Night, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 13 in James B. Conant High School, 700 E. Cougar Trail, Hoffman Estates. Community Education is offering a class, “Adoption–Choosing the Right Path,” from 9:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 16 in Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Rd., Arlington Heights. A panel discussion featuring adoptive parents as well as a young man who was adopted as an infant from the Dominican Republic will follow a presentation by the Family Resource Center. Members of The Second City comedy troupe will perform sketches, songs and improvisation from its 45-year history at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Hough Street School, 310 Hough St., Barrington. The Barrington High School Fine Arts Department and Fine Arts Boosters will hold their annual citrus sale through Oct. 15. Supt. Kenneth Arndt will accept applications for a seat on the board through 4 p.m. Nov. 1. Application packets will be available at the Administration Center, 300 Cleveland Ave., Carpentersville. Requirements include residency in Dundee Township, a cover letter indicating intent, a completed questionnaire, a resume and a completed Illinois statement of economic interest. ELGIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Math and English review workshops for those taking placement tests will be held in the college’s Student Resource Center, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. An Algebra I and II review workshop will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday. The English review workshop will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 14.
