Chicago-based Midway Games bought Paradox Development, the developer of the Mortal Kombat series, for $3.6 million in stock as part of its plan to gain profitability by producing mature-themed video games. Paradox will release Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks in the fall of 2005.
