A 15-year-old Lombard boy was charged with stealing nine guns from a home in December, according to the DuPage County sheriff’s office. The teen took shotguns, rifles and revolvers from a home near Lombard between Dec. 19 and Dec. 22, the department said in a release.
Lombard police found some of the guns behind bushes near homes.
Further investigation led detectives to the teen, who was charged Jan. 6 with residential burglary and aggravated possession of a stolen firearm.
Seven of the nine guns have been recovered in Illinois and Wisconsin. The investigation is ongoing.
