Steve Chapman’s column on advocacy columnists and editorial writers is right on the money, but his description of such creatures could be a bit more precise (“Principled punditry; A big problem for journalism is that so many pundits have become apologists, not independent thinkers, for one political agenda or the other,” Commentary, Jan. 13).

They aren’t apologists.

They’re propagandists.
