The Eagles
1. Super Bowl XV
Raiders 27-10
It was all Oakland in the 1981 game at the Louisiana Superdome. Jim Plunkett threw three TD passes and the Raiders’ defense shut down Ron Jaworski and the Eagles’ offense.
The Patriots
2. Super Bowl XX
Bears 46-10
Do we really need to revisit this game? OK, in case you forgot, the Bears buried the Patriots in New Orleans. Suffice to say QB Steve Grogan and the New England offense couldn’t penetrate the Bears’ defense.
3. Super Bowl XXXI
Packers 35-21
After Curtis Martin scored to bring the Patriots within 27-21, Desmond Howard returned the ensuing kickoff 99 yards to break New England’s spirit.
4. Super Bowl XXXVI
Patriots 20-17
New England won its first title as Adam Vinatieri kicked a 48-yard field goal as time expired to beat the Rams. MVP Tom Brady went 16 of 27 for 145 yards and a TD.
5. Super Bowl XXXVIII
Patriots 32-29
It took a Super Bowl- record 26 minutes 55 seconds for the first points to be scored, but then the action between New England and Carolina was furious. It ended (sound familiar?) with Vinatieri kicking a 41-yard field goal with four seconds left. Brady (32-48, 354, 3 TDs) was MVP again.
