– Ford is recalling 358,857 2000-02 Focus cars because their rear passenger doors may not latch properly. One person reported a minor wrist injury because of the defect.
– DaimlerChrysler is recalling 26,000 2005 Dodge Durango SUVs because the fuel tank filler valve may not fully close after refueling. Fuel could leak from the vehicle.
– GM is recalling 155,465 pickups and sport-utility vehicles because of possible brake malfunctions. The recall covers 2004-05 Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado and Suburban; the GMC Savana, Sierra and Yukon XL; two commercial trucks, the GMC Topkick and Chevrolet Kodiak; and the Hummer H2 with Bosch hydro-boost brake assemblies. NHTSA says a pressure accumulator in the braking system could crack in normal driving and fragments could injure people if the hood was open.
– BFGoodrich is recalling 20,000 Land Terrain tires sold in the U.S. and Canada because they do not have the required tread wear indicators. The size is P235/75R15, and the mold numbers are 40381 and 40382. The recalled tires have U.S. Department of Transportation tire identification numbers that begin with DOT AN HL B411 and end with the last four digits 0904 through 3304. The DOT code is on the inner sidewall of the tire just above the wheel rim.
