Baby Boomers have given the impression over several weeks that they have been able stewards of Social Security while also accusing younger workers, such as myself, of behaving selfishly.

They have acted just as selfishly by spending the Social Security surplus for the past 20 years. Only now, through both the Social Security dilemma and society’s lack of personal savings, are they seeing the harsh realities of spending all your money now instead of setting some aside for later.

Baby Boomers should work with younger generations to fix Social Security with the understanding that they are responsible for the problem so they must share in the burden of fixing it.
